Description How to Grow More Info Delivery

Fine, lacy foliage and a graceful tracery of densely branching bright green stems makes Acer ‘Orange Lace’ an exceptionally elegant maple. The deeply divided leaves have long, slender leaflets and unfurl a gorgeous orange-yellow in spring, turning green in summer then bursting into rich oranges and reds before falling. The fine foliage and beautiful leaf colours perform best in partial shade.

Acers are slow growing and make ideal specimens for small gardens and containers where they provide multiple seasons of interest. Their refined palmate foliage and graceful form add beautiful texture and structure to gardens, remaining captivating even in winter as the elegant tracery of bare branches emerges. They are perfect for creating a tranquil Japanese garden vibe in even the smallest urban spaces. Height: 2m (6.5ft). Spread: 1.5m (4.9ft).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Grow Acers in any moist, fertile, well drained soil in sun or dappled shade. This Acer is much hardier than other Japanese Acers and will cope with more exposed sites.
Water regularly throughout the growing season until acer trees are well established. Protect plants from strong winds. Acers require little pruning other than to maintain their shape. Lightly trim stems if necessary from late autumn to midwinter.
