Chrysanthemum carinatum 'Polar Star' is an easy to grow showy annual with unusual tricolour daisy flowers. Each white bloom has an intriguing inner yellow halo surrounding a central darker cushion. Perfect for adding height and interest to borders, as well as making a long lasting cut flower. Height: 75cm (30"). Spread: 40cm (16").

Direct sow Painted Daisy seeds outdoors where they are to grow from April to May. Choose a position in full sun on any well drained soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Sow seeds thinly, at a depth of 6mm (1/4") in drills spaced 23cm (9") apart. Water the ground regularly, especially during dry periods. When Chrysanthemum plants are large enough to handle, thin them out to 30cm (12") apart.

Water regularly until plants are fully established. Deadhead faded chrysanthemum flowers to prolong the flowering period. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes.
