Dahlia ‘Dark Bouquet Mix’ brings a dramatic blend of rich reds, purples, and pinks to your garden. This selection of nine dahlias features a captivating variety of double, cactus, and pompom blooms, creating a striking display of textures and forms. Attention-grabbing bi-colours form the perfect counterpoint to simple, single-coloured varieties creating a harmonising but lively composition. These long-flowering dahlias add vibrant colour to borders or containers from late summer until the first frosts. Their strong stems also mean they make an excellent choice for stunning cut flower arrangements that will add glamour to any home.

This dahlia mix provides a cost-effective way to explore a carefully curated selection of varieties, delivering a beautifully balanced composition without the need for random guesswork.

Height: 1m (39in) to 1.5m (5ft). Spread: 50cm (20in) to 60cm (24in).

Dahlia Dark Bouquet Mix contains the following varieties:

  • Dahlia ‘Sissinghurst’ – Double, decorative dahlia in a rich, cherry red with paler petal edges
  • Dahlia ‘Davina Michelle’ – Double decorative dahlia with crushed raspberry petals, the heart of the flower darkening to rich purple/magenta
  • Dahlia ‘Silly Silly’ - Double decorative dahlia with rich ruby red flowers
  • Dahlia ‘Jowey Paradise’ – Very striking double decorative dahlia. Cerise-red petals with white, distinctively crimped edges paint a bold contrast.
  • Dahlia ‘Jowey Mirella’ – Densely petalled ball dahlia in an opulent deep crimson to velvety maroon.
  • Dahlia ‘Black Jack’ – Large-flowered, spiky cactus dahlia in an indulgent chocolatey maroon.
  • Dahlia ‘Smiling Don’ – Double decorative dahlia with hot pink petals bearing a white stripe down the centre
  • Dahlia ‘Hollyhill Dark Beauty’ – Breathtaking colour and a perfectly neat form makes this one a real stunner. A double decorative dahlia with velvety, rich claret red to black petals.
  • Dahlia ‘Seniors Hope’ - Double decorative dahlia with dusky pink petals, that are a deeper red on the reverse.

9 Tubers (1 of each variety) (KH3075)
18 Tubers (2 of each variety) (KH3076)

Plant Dahlia tubers outdoors in April after all risk of frost has passed. Choose a sunny position in moist well drained soil. Prepare the soil by digging in plenty of well rotted manure or compost. Plant tubers at a depth of 15cm (6") and water well. Alternatively, start tubers into growth in pots of compost in a frost free greenhouse. Transplant them into their final positions outdoors in June.
Feed and water dahlias regularly throughout the growing season. While plants are still young, pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage bushier growth and masses of flowers. As dahlias develop, the taller varieties will require staking with garden canes to support their stems. Deadhead faded dahlia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. With the first autumn frosts, remove tubers from their growing positions and trim away the old stems to 5cm above the tuber. Clean any remaining soil from the tubers and store them over winter in trays of peat or sand, in a cool but frost free position. The tubers can be planted the following spring for another fabulous display.
