Gaillardia aristata 'Burgundy' blooms relentlessly from June to September, producing sizeable, wine red flowers that last for months and months. Blanket flowers are an extremely durable variety that tolerate drought and coastal positions that would prove challenging for many other plants, as well as positively thriving in light sandy soils. This hardy perennial provides unbeatable performance in patio containers, beds and borders, as well as making superb cut flowers. Gaillardia aristata 'Burgundy' will also help to draw pollinating insects into your garden. Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 45cm (18").

Grow Gaillardia plants in borders and containers on any well drained soil in full sun.

Feed and water occasionally until gaillardia plants are fully established. Deadhead faded Gaillardia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. In Late summer, cut back old foliage and flower stems to 15cm (6") to encourage basal growth before the first frosts. In spring, lift and divide overcrowded clumps of gaillardia and apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant.
