Heuchera 'Chocolate Ruffles' produces luxurious mounds of rich chocolate-coloured foliage, with contrasting burgundy upsides that make for an opulent display. A colourful, evergreen perennial, 'Chocolate Ruffles' provides superb year-round colour in your garden. It is particularly useful for containers and less-than-perfect soils, with better drought resistance than many traditional cultivars. Also perfect as a ground cover in borders and wildlife areas, where the creamy-white summer flowers attract pollinating insects. Height: 75cm (30"). Spread: 50cm (20").

Heuchera plants dislike soils which are particularly dry or have a tendency to waterlogging. Plant them in a moist, well drained soil, adding compost or well rotted manure to amend heavy clay or sandy soils. Choose a position towards the front of the border in full sun or semi shade.

Feed, water and weed between plants regularly until they are fully established. Apply mulch of well rotted manure around the crown of each plant in autumn or spring. Lift and divide clumps of Heuchera every 3 years in autumn to maintain vigorous, healthy growth.
