Houttuynia cordata 'Chameleon' boasts unique and striking foliage, with the elegant heart-shaped leaves beautifully painted in green, yellow and reddish pink. Pure white four-petalled flowers add to the display in summer. Houttuynia is a very useful and versatile perennial that will grow almost anywhere, from moist to drought-prone soils, and from full sun and dappled shade. With a spreading habit, Houttuynia cordata 'Chameleon' is perfect for ground cover, especially around ponds. The leaves give off a scent of oranges when bruised and are even edible, giving a wonderful citrusy flavouring to salads. Height: 30cm (12"). Spread: 100cm (39").

This hardy perennial is both moisture and drought tolerant, and thrives in almost any position from sun to dappled shade. Plant Houttuynia in any garden soil, or in the shallow margins of ponds. In favourable conditions, Houttuynia will spread freely, but can be easily contained if planted in containers.

Feed and water Houttuynia plants regularly until fully established. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of Houttuynia in Spring to maintain plant vigour.
