Hydrangea paniculata ‘Groundbreaker’ is a revolutionary new Hydrangea that grows to a maximum height of only 30-40cm. It is perfect for running along edges, planting through small borders, providing low-maintenance ground cover or adding interest to patio containers. It is even small enough to be used as a garden table centrepiece. From July to November, it is covered with petite white flowers that develop a soft pink blush as the season progresses. Height and spread: 40cm (16in).

Hydrangea paniculata prefers a sunny or semi shaded position, with shelter from cold, drying winds. Grow hydrangea plants in any non alkaline, fertile, moist soil. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding with plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply.Water regularly until plants are fully established.
Pruning:
Hydrangea paniculata flowers on the current season’s growth and will flower better if pruned annually. Establish a permanent framework to the desired height and every spring prune back all growth to this framework. At the same time, remove any dead or damaged growth.
After pruning hydrangeas, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten.
