A compact form of L. styraciflua bringing the spectacular autumn colours of New England to your garden, The large palmate, maple-like, mid green leaves turn a kaleidoscope of orange, red and purple colours as the cooler autumn weather approaches. Small green flowers appear in spring followed by corky winged fruit capsules. Liquidamber styraciflua 'Gum Ball' is best grown in full sun for the brightest autumn colours. Although it prefers a neutral to acid soil it will tolerate chalky soils if planted into a good depth of soil. Height: 5m (16'). Spread: 2.5m (8').Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size.
