Nasturtium 'Bolero Mixed' is a true 'throw and grow' plant; scatter the seed where you wish (even if you think you're too late) and within weeks you'll have a glorious display. Height: 30cm (12"). Spread: 35cm (14").

Culinary note: The peppery flavour of the leaves and colourful flowers will enrich salads and the unripened seeds can used like capers – delicious combined with cream cheese or butter in canapés. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Sow outdoors where they are to flower. Before sowing, prepare the ground well by raking until the soil is fine and crumbly and remove any large stones. Sow 20mm (3/4") deep, in rows 30cm (12") apart, or scatter seed in beds or borders as a gap filler and lightly cover over.

Thin out the plants when the seedlings are large enough to handle, to about 23cm (9") apart.
