A classic, romantic red rose, equipped with all the vigour and health benefits of modern breeding.

Rose ‘Amadeus’ bears small trusses of buds that open into large, double, rich-red flowers, each bloom around 8cm across. The lightly-scented blooms are noted for their stable colour and excellent weather resistance. Healthy, glossy, deep green leaves show excellent resistance to mildew and black spot. Repeat blooming from June to September, Rose ‘Amadeus’ creates a jaw-dropping display billowing over arches, trellis or walls. Height: 3m (10ft). Spread: 1m (3.2ft).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

1 x 4 Litre Potted Plant (Height 80cm+) (KF3327)

Plant roses at the earliest opportunity following delivery. To avoid the risk from the build-up of harmful soil organisms and disease, choose an open position in full sun that has not been planted with roses in recent years. Roses enjoy a rich, fertile, well drained soil. Dig in plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting roses and add a small handful of granular fertiliser to the planting hole.
Feed and water rose plants regularly and deadhead faded flowers. When growing roses it is necessary to remove any suckers that arise from the base of the plant, below the graft union. In late summer begin pruning climbing roses by removing dead and diseased wood, and any rubbing or damaged stems. For the first two years the remaining stems should be trained horizontally on wires. From the third year, the main stems can be reduced to maintain the plant within the available growing space. Side shoots should be reduced to 3 buds. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost to the base of the plant after pruning.
