Golden yellow daisies with black button centres make this perennial Black Eyed Susan a popular choice for sunny borders. The bright blooms of Rudbeckia fulgida var. sullivantii 'Goldsturm' are produced over a long flowering period on tall stems that make lovely cut flowers. This RHS AGM variety is ideal for planting in drifts in the middle of sunny borders for a splash of late summer colour. Height: 90cm (36"). Spread: 60cm (24").

Gradually acclimatise Rudbeckia plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days and transplant into borders. Choose a position in sun or semi shade on heavy, well drained, fertile soil. Add some well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting. Firm the Coneflower plant into the ground and water well to settle the soil.

In autumn, remove old foliage and faded flower stems. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost around the base of the plant in spring.
