Silene dioica 'Rollie's Favourite' is an unusual variety producing bubblegum pink blooms on loosely sprawling plants throughout summer, making it perfect for the patio or to soften the edges of borders. Catchfly plants thrive in full sun or dappled shade, and are bushy, with almost more flowers than foliage! Silene are a group of fuss-free, hardy perennials, which are often overlooked when it comes to being planted into the garden. These underused plants are well worth growing for their flowering performance, and carefree attitude. Plant silene on fertile, well drained, neutral to alkaline soil, in full sun or dappled shade. Avoid planting in soils that are excessively wet in winter.

Water silene plants regularly until they are fully established. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps in spring. Silene self-seeds freely. If seedlings are not wanted, deadhead stems of silene flowers as the blooms fade.
