Description How to Grow More Info Delivery Reviews
A magnificent deciduous tree for a large garden! The glossy leaves, with their curious and distinctive shape, release a powerful eucalyptus scent when crushed. As autumn approaches the foliage turns from green to buttery yellow, before falling to reveal the fascinating corky bark that covers the stem and branches of mature specimens. With age, the Tulip Tree will begin to bear tulip-like blooms in shades of pale green and orange, which give this RHS AGM species its common name. Liriodendron tulipifera makes a spectacular feature which deserves a prominent position and plenty of space to achieve its full potential. Ultimate height: 20m (65’). Ultimate spread: 10m (32’). Supplied in 9cm pots.

Grow Tulip Trees in a sunny or semi shaded position. Plant Liriodendron tulipifera in a rich, moist, well drained, neutral to slightly soil. Incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to improve the soil prior to planting, mixing it thoroughly and deeply.
Water regularly throughout the growing season until young Liriodendron trees are fully established. Tulip trees require little pruning other than to maintain their shape and remove damaged or crossing stems in late winter or early spring.
