These hardy, compact Chrysanthemums are fantastic for adding late summer and autumn colour to your garden, just as other plants are starting to fade. Each plant forms a natural, neat mound of foliage which is completely smothered with flowers for weeks. The warm, vibrant colours of Chrysanthemum 'Hardy Patio Improved' are a great addition to the front of borders, or try them individually in patio containers! Chrysanthemum 'Hardy Patio Improved' comprises 2 plants each of:

  • Chrysanthemum ‘Moviestar Blanchett Pink’ - A sumptuous display of deep pink flowers in autumn.
  • Chrysanthemum ‘Moviestar Blanchett Yellow’ - Bright golden blooms bring sunshine to your pots on the cloudiest days.
  • Chrysanthemum ‘Moviestar Blanchett Red’ - Rich orange-red blooms form a neat cushion of colour.

Pot up plugs and grow them on in warm frost free conditions. Pinch out the top 5cm when stems reach a height of 15 cm to produce a bushier plant with more flowers. Repeat with every consecutive 15cm of growth until the plant forms flower buds. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise chrysanthemum plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days.
Plant hardy chrysanthemums out in patio containers or borders in rich fertile, well drained soil. Choose a position in full sun. Feed and water regularly. Apply a deep mulch in late autumn to protect the crowns of the plants over winter. Leave flowered stems intact until spring as these will also offer some protection from frost.

Van Meuwen strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.
