Clematis 'Pink Fantasy' is a free-flowering variety which grows really well in containers and is suitable for gardens of any size. It is very easy to care for and rewards with soft pink flowers which appear in mid to late summer. The flowers have darker pink stripes, or 'bars' and lovely cream and magenta anthers. This hardy climbing perennial has a neat, compact habit and it is therefore highly suitable for planting in a container. It is equally happy on a trellis or pergola - or try planting through roses and shrubs for subtle contrast. Height: 2.5m (8' 2"). Spread: 1m (3' 2") Pruning group: 3.
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Grow Clematis in sheltered sunny borders in any moist, well drained soil. Clematis plants particularly dislike dry soils so add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to improve moisture retention in summer. Plant clematis with the top of the rootball positioned 7.5cm (3”) below soil level, to encourage new shoots to form from the base of the plant. Be sure to provide the twining stems with an appropriate support, such as trellis or wires attached to fences and pergolas. Alternatively grow clematis up freestanding plant frames in patio containers. When planting in containers, use a soil based compost such as John Innes No.3.
Feed and water frequently throughout the growing season. When pruning group 3 Clematis remember that they flower on the current year's growth. In spring, simply cut back all of the previous year's growth to a pair of strong buds at the base of the plant. Afterwards, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost to the base of the plant.
