Rare and much sought-after, Crinodendron 'Alf Robbins' is a unique selection which sports pure white flowers. It forms a large, evergreen shrub clothed in leathery, deep green, narrow leaves. Even when not in flower, it makes a handsome feature. The rich green foliage provides a dramatic backdrop to the white, lantern-shaped, pendulous flowers. Hanging down elegantly from long stalks, the thick-petalled, waxy flowers are produced in abundance over a long period from late spring until autumn. This choice shrub makes a unique feature for a sheltered spot in acid soil where it is bound to attract plenty of admirers!

Plant in fertile, well-drained and fertile soil in partial shade or sun, as the roots will appreciate being kept cool and shaded as it prefers a sheltered position behind a wall for example.

In the late winter, feed with a fertilizer which is slow releasing, and add mulch around the shrub with ericaceous compost, leaf mould and pine needles. Remove any damaged or dying branches to help flowering for the following year.
