This lovely Cape Sundew will add interest to your windowsill. Drosera capensis is a carnivorous marsh loving perennial which prefers to be stool in a saucer of preferably rain water. It has long sticky leaves which look like dew drops, these attract insects especially the small ones like fruit flies and midges. They end up being digested leaving the shell of the insect. Height and spread: 20cm (8").

Please note: Some houseplants are toxic or harmful to pets if ingested. If you believe your pet has consumed a poisonous plant then seek veterinary attention immediately. Take a sample of the plant with you.

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Grow Drosera bright light, with at least 4 hours of full sun per day, but avoiding scorching midday sun. They require a frost free position such as a cool conservatory, porch or bright room indoors with a minimum temperature of 15C (60F).
Sundew plants should be watered from below, ideally in a saucer with 1 cm of soft water or rainwater. No additional feed is needed as they will catch their own food.
