Foxgloves are a classic plant of the 'Country Garden' and loved for their high towers of cone shaped flowers, that look spectacular in garden borders. Foxglove 'Dalmatian Mixed' are hardy biennial and grow well in full sun, or partial shade, flowering between May and July. These beautiful digitalis attract pollinating insects to the garden and also make delightful cut flowers. Height: 50cm (20”). Spread: 40cm (16”).

Premium perennials are large plug tray plants, roughly the same size as garden ready plants like a potted plant without a pot. They will need to be acclimatised to the garden, and once all chance of frost has cleared can be planted out directly into the garden.

Caution: Irritant to skin and eyes. Toxic if eaten. Pot up foxglove plug plants into 11cm pots and grow on in warm conditions until large enough to plant in their final positions outdoors. When Digitalis plants are well grown, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a 7 to 10 day period. Plant Foxgloves out in sun or dappled shade on any fertile, well drained soil. Digitalis will grow well in most soils except for waterlogged or particularly dry conditions. Incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting. Water well to settle the soil.
Water foxglove plants regularly until fully established. Foxgloves self-seed freely. If seedlings are not wanted, deadhead stems of foxglove flowers as the blooms fade. In autumn, cut back old stems to encourage plenty of new side shoots.

Van Meuwen strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.
