Instantly recognisable by its sculpted grey-green leaves that boast a slender red margin when young. Fluffy clusters of early summer flowers are pale lilac, slowly fading to white as the season progresses. Hebe ‘Red Edge’ is a neat, compact variety with a multitude of uses in the garden. Grow it in containers on the patio, or dotted through borders for year-round interest and colour. It makes an attractive low maintenance hedge, or a useful addition to wildlife gardens where it always attracts bees and butterflies. Height: 45cm (18"). Spread: 60cm (24").

Grow Hebe plants in moist, well drained, light sandy soil. Avoid planting Hebes on acid soils. Choose a position in full sun or semi shade and sheltered from strong winds.

Water well after planting. Once established Hebe plants require little maintenance other than an occasional trim after flowering to maintain the shape of the plant.
