A sultry Heuchera boasting deep purple to black foliage with heavily ruffled edges and a silvery sheen. Purple stems support pale pink flowers in early to mid summer. Heuchera ‘Dark Secret’ is ideal for running along the front of the border, where its dark foliage provides a contrasting foil to light toned foliage and flowers. Forming neat domes of semi-evergreen foliage, it’s perfect for border edges, as weed-suppressing groundcover or providing foliage interest to container arrangements. Height: 25cm (10in). Spread: 30cm (12in).

Heuchera plants dislike soils which are particularly dry or have a tendency to waterlogging. Plant them in moist, fertile, well drained soil, adding plenty of compost or well rotted manure to amend heavy clay or sandy soils. Choose a position towards the front of the border in full sun or semi shade.

Feed and water coral flower plants regularly until they are fully established.Apply a mulch of well rotted manure around the crown of each plant each spring. Lift and divide clumps of heuchera plants every 3 years in autumn to maintain vigorous, healthy growth.
