Pittosporum tenuifolium 'Golden Ball'

One of a number of exciting Pittosporum 'ball' varieties that are outstanding for their compact growth, foliage colour and superb architectural qualities.

Pittosporum tenuifolium ‘Golden Ball’ forms a pleasing, dome-like shape even without regular trimming, growing to just over a metre with maturity. Treated to a regular trim, it can be kept as an even tighter, smaller ball and makes a superb substitute for box. The small leaves are yellow when young, maturing to yellow green as they age. 'Golden Ball' forms a dense, evergreen shrub that is robust, low maintenance and disease-resistant. Pittosporum tenuifolium ‘Golden Ball’ can be planted into decorative containers and grown in the same way as box balls to accent architectural features. Alternatively, plant it in the border to create ‘punctuation marks’ that add all-year-round structure. Pittosporum tenuifolium ‘Golden Ball’ can also be grown as a low hedge.
