Salix will prefer a sunny or partially shaded position, in any well drained soil.

In order to attain the most colourful foliage, all side branches should be trimmed by a third during July. Keep Salix Hakuro-Nishiki plants tidy through the year with regular trimming and to produce fresh variegated growth prune back branch tips by about 15cm (6").
