Description How to Grow More Info Delivery Reviews
Verbena bonariensis produces lavender flower heads formed from tightly-clustered florets, held stiffly upright on branching stems. These long-lasting blooms are a magnet for bees and butterflies, and this elegant perennial is at its most effective when planted in large swathes. Verbena bonariensis is enjoying a resurgence in popularity, associating beautifully with grasses in a tranquil planting scheme, or adding a touch of architectural style to the back of herbaceous borders. Height: 120cm (48"). Spread: 45cm (18").

Garden Ready Plants - If you’ve fallen behind with your planting or if greenhouse space is limited, we can help you catch up with our garden-ready plug plants. These sturdy plants are larger than other plugs so they can be planted straight out in the garden provided that there are no forecasts of frost. Perfect for filling containers, baskets and borders without the need for growing on.

Plant Verbena bonariensis in containers, beds or borders, in moist, well-drained soil in full sun. Garden Ready plug plants can be planted straight out in the garden provided that there are no forecasts of frost.
Feed and water verbena plants regularly until fully established. In autumn, cover the base of the plant with a dry mulch such as bark chips or straw to protect the crown from winter weather. Place container-grown specimens against a wall or wrap the pot in bubble wrap or fleece to protect the roots. Cut back faded stems in the spring when new shoots start to emerge.

Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Orders for packets of seed incur a delivery charge of £2.99.

Van Meuwen strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.
