This fascinating shrubby succulent makes an intriguing choice for a warm, bright spot in your home. The dark, fleshy leaved rosettes are borne at the tips of the branching, woody stems making a fantastic architectural display. This tender evergreen requires temperatures above 5C (41F) if they are to survive, but can be moved to the patio during the summer months. Aeonium arboreum 'Atropurpureum' is a fascinating plant with an exotic (and somewhat prehistoric) appearance – perfect for creating a bold focal point! Height: 90cm (36"). Spread: 60cm (24").

Please note: Some houseplants are toxic or harmful to pets if ingested. If you believe your pet has consumed a poisonous plant then seek veterinary attention immediately. Take a sample of the plant with you.

Grow Aeonium plants in well drained, sandy or gritty soil in sun or light, semi shade.

Aeoniums are frost tender and require temperatures above 5C (41F) if they are to survive. In most parts of the UK they are best grown in pots and moved to a heated greenhouse or conservatory over the winter months.

Like all succulents, Aeoniums have fleshy leaves which store moisture to help them to cope with dry conditions. However these plants also have shallow root systems which can be vulnerable during extended periods of drought. Water moderately and feed occasionally while Aeoniums are in active growth. Avoid watering between late autumn and spring while plants are dormant.

Aeoniums should be moved to a warm, frost free position in autumn with a minimum temperature of 5C (41F). They can be returned to their position outdoors in late spring, or when all risk of frost has passed.
