This exotic looking house plant originates from the Philippines but is fast becoming a popular choice in homes across the globe! Alocasia zebrina is a fast growing perennial with incredible zebra-striped stems that produce sleek arrow-shaped leaves. Alocasia needs regular naturing so water little and often and place in a bright and light area of your home with a humid atmosphere. Ideal for exotic displays in a light room or conservatory to give a contemporary feel. Height and spread: 100cm (39"). Please note: Some houseplants are toxic or harmful to pets if ingested. If you believe your pet has consumed a poisonous plant then seek veterinary attention immediately. Take a sample of the plant with you.

Alocasia require bright filtered light, well away from the scorch of direct sun. Choose a warm room with a constant temperature above 15C (59F), and position the plant away from central heating and draughty doorways.

Water Alocasia regularly allowing the soil surface to dry out between each watering. Always allow the pot to drain properly afterwards. In winter, reduce watering to prevent the soil becoming soggy and waterlogged, as this will cause the plant to rot. House plants should be fed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth. Alocasia appreciates a humid atmosphere - stand it on a tray filled with pebbles and water. As the water evaporates it will increase humidity around the plant.
