PAEONIES

Flowering time: May to July
Height: 30-36in (75-90cm)
Aftercare: Can remain in the same position indefinitely as they resent disturbance, so select their position with care. Grow in any moist but well drained soil, in sun or partial shade. Plant 14 inches (35cm) apart, making sure that the top of the crown is no more than 1 inch (3cm) deep. Water freely in dry weather. Dead head as flowers fade and cut down the foliage in late October.

PANDOREA JASMINOIDES

Flowering time: spring to summer
Height: 15ft (5m)
Aftercare: Needs frost protection. Grow in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun.

PASSION FLOWER

Flowering time: June to September
Height: eventually 20ft (6m)
Aftercare: Plant in any well drained garden soil, choosing a sheltered site, in sun or partial shade. As a house plant, should be placed in a 4 to 6 inch (10-15cm) pot and trained on a circle of strong wire.

PATIO PEACH

Aftercare: Ideally grown in large tub or container on a balcony or patio, in a warm, sunny, sheltered location. It is essential to spray for peach leaf curl during mid February and early March.

PEARS

Aftercare: Soil to be deeply dug and well manured, a sunny position is preferred. Dig a hole wide enough to take the roots when spread out, place a stake in the hole to support the tree. Fill in the hole and firm the soil around the tree. Fasten the tree to the stake so it will not move about. Keep well watered until established.
Conference. A very popular pear due to to its firm juicy fruit and flavour. Pick late September, ready to eat October and November. Rootstock used: Quince A, Dwarf Stock.

Aftercare: Ideally planted in a large tub or pot, keep in sun or partial shade. Trim and clip to desired shape.

PIERIS FOREST FLAME/FLAMING SILVER

Flowering time: April to May
Height: 6-8ft (180-240cm)
Aftercare: Plant in moist, lime free soil (add plenty of peat if necessary). Choose a sheltered position in partial shade. Top dress annually with peat or leaf-mould. Do not allow to dry out during summer months.

PLEIOBLASTUS VARIEGATUS

Height: 30in (75cm); spread 4ft (120cm)
Aftercare: Plant in any reasonable soil type. Does best in partial shade.

PLUMS

Aftercare: Fully hardy. Grows in poor to moderately fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Pruning should be done in early to mid spring.

Flowering time: late spring to mid autumn
Aftercare; Grow in poor to moderately fertile, well-drained soil in full sun.

POTENTILLA MISS WILMONT

Flowering time: summer
Height: 12-18in (30-45cm)
Aftercare: Fully hardy. Grow in poor to moderately fertile, well drained soil in full sun. Rock garden species prefer poor, gritty, sharply drained soil.

PRUNUS SHIDARE SAKURA

Flowering time: March to April.
Height: 15-20ft (450-600cm); spread 15-20ft (450-600cm)
Aftercare: Plant in any ordinary garden soil, in sunny position. Dig hole large enough to take roots without bending and place strong stake in hole to support plant. Fill in holes, firm soil and fasten to stake for support.
