Two truly head-turning hydrangeas! Hydrangea Tellar Green Dream Collection features a stunning colour combination that makes these compact shrubs a standout addition to borders and containers. Lime green is set against contrasting flourishes of pink or blue creating a zingy palette that is sure to lift and energise dull corners of the patio, north and east-facing borders or shady woodland areas beneath a light tree canopy. These compact deciduous shrubs are perfect for adding low maintenance, long-lasting colour and fresh green foliage in smaller gardens.

Please note that the colour of the flowers varies according to the acidity of the soil, with more alkaline soils giving the best pink hues and acid soils giving the best blue hues. Height and spread: 120cm (4ft).

Hydrangea Tellar Green Dream Collection contains the following varieties:

  • Hydrangea 'Teller Green Dream Blue' - Lime-green outer florets with contrasting blue hearts surround a lacy centre of deep blue florets.
  • Hydrangea 'Teller Green Dream Pink' - Lime-green outer florets with contrasting pink hearts surround a lacy centre of inner pink florets.

Hydrangea macrophylla prefers a sunny or semi shaded position, with shelter from cold, drying winds. Grow hydrangea plants in any rich fertile, moist soil. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding with plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply. Alternatively plant hydrangea macrophylla in patio containers in soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3.
Water regularly until plants are fully established. Leave the faded hydrangea flower heads in place until the new buds swell in spring to protect the delicate buds from frost damage. Prune after flowering, reducing the stems to restrict their growth to the available space and to improve the shape of the plant. After pruning hydrangeas, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant. Caution: Contact with hydrangea foliage may irritate the skin and eyes and all parts are harmful if eaten.
